We cheaped out and stayed in a 4 person dorm here - the...

We cheaped out and stayed in a 4 person dorm here - the value for the price we paid was great. The beach is a two minute walk away and an incredible place to watch the sunset, absolutely stunning. The staff were really cheerful and helpful, the food was good, the room was clean, and there were hammocks in the shade to hang out in. All in all, great stay!

There was a rooster on the other side of the wall, i.e.: really close to where we slept. But if you like getting up early anyways then it's a non-issue.

The room was quite big and the beds had mosquito nets.

The room was quite big and the beds had mosquito nets. Showers were big and clean too. There is no air conditioning, but when we were there (mid-February) fan was enough. Nice chilling zone downstairs. But can be annoying if you get room on the first floor and another guests talk too loud when you sleep. Staff is very kind and helpful. They really made this place feel like home. Breakfast was delicious.

There are no doors or walls in dormitory rooms. So basically pieces of thin cloth that works as walls. Which is fine, but you'll hear all of the people around like they are in your room.

Nothing

Personel wasn't kind and nice... Internet didn't work... they told us that in all city it didn't work but it wasn't true because our friends in the other places had internet and when we changed hostel we also had internet. We booked it because of wifi. Bed were small and not comfortable. Moskito net were with wholes. No hot water in shower. It was really noisy, even during night.

Difficult walking to hostel at night. Dorms are open aired with mosquito nets around beds.

Nice large locker storage. If you don't have a lock they will provide one to use and only charge if you lose it. Free towels.

No wi-fi available throughout stay. Trail of termites above the sinks outside at night and then again early morning. The location is about 30 minutes walk from town area and most of the walk is on the road. At night it is not safe to walk due to little lighting. I saw a dog get hit by a tricycle and decided that was the point I needed to get a ride.

Original and authentic hostel

Original and authentic place to stay at. Common space with hammocks and swings whih is nice to meet with people ! Good and cheap breakfast. Staff very very nice, welcoming, smiling and helpful. I was sick and they took care of me, like if I was from their family.

The only bad point was when we checked-in, so we booked for 2 single beds and they only had one bed available for the first night. So we had to stay next door, in an other hostel on our first night but the staff arranged for us at the same price.

Location is nice

Arrived to be told that the room we booked wasn’t available - so instead they arranged to put an extra mattress on the floor in another room to accommodate three of us and then seemed annoyed when we asked for a discount! The courtyard was loud at night, vomit on the floor in the mornings, obviously a more party kind of vibe but the price didn’t really reflect this. Don’t usually mind noise or rubbish showers etc in hostels but there wasn’t many benefits of this place to redeem it

What was the highlight of Swinging Carabao Hostel

Great staff and a lovely hostel!

At the time I was staying in El Nido, unfortunately many tourists got sick, and not only in this hostel. I am very thankful to the staff of Swinging Carabao Hostel as they took real good care of me when I got sick. They gave me meds, a good place to rest, water and a lot more! Besides, they kept checking up on me to make sure I was getting better. Thumbs up !!!

What was the highlight of Swinging Carabao Hostel

The hammocks were nice.

Almost everyone, including myself, got food poisoning from the food here and the staff did not care when we complained about it. The WiFi does not work at all. The beach and the town are both 10-20 minute walk away.
